Not much about Evan and Breeana’s wedding was going to be quiet. With a guest list full of Evan’s musician pals and Breeana’s family and friends from Australia – and many meeting each other for the first time – this really was a wedding all about bringing together two tribes!
The morning began at Ev and Breeana’s house in Hackney, where the groom, his best man and his brother were getting ready together. Ev went for an early morning run to shake the nerves and then it was time to get dressed. Clifford the cat didn’t want to miss out and even got his hair combed, before trying to make off with the bride’s wedding ring – best man Hugo seemed to be more concerned about looking after his briefcase (the contents of which was not revealed until the speeches) than the rings!

Over at the bride’s apartment for the weekend, the mood was purposeful yet happy and light – nail painting and speech writing was interspersed with FaceTime calls to Australia and lots of laughing. The calmest bride I’ve ever met, Breeana was smiling and an absolute joy to shoot as she had her make up done – she looks radiant in every photo I have of her!
Then it was time to go and get married!
The location for the ceremony was Southwark Registry Office, a beautiful Georgian building on Peckham Road. Breeana arrived with her parents and bridesmaid Ella, and there was just enough time for a pep talk from the registrar before the ceremony began and Breeana’s brother sang her down the aisle.
After the ceremony, there was time for photos in the garden before Ev and Breeana took a walk in a nearby park. Passing strangers congratulated the pair – plenty of beeping from cars and vans too! – and one lady even stopped the happy couple for some selfies! Breeana was keen to capture London elements in the photos, hence the buses, taxis and chicken shop!
Finally it was on to The Four Thieves pub in Battersea for a traditional Sunday lunch, (even though it was Thursday), with Yorkshire puddings that confused the Aussies! Ev and Breeana took the opportunity to blow off some steam in the upstairs games room with Ella, Hugo and Breeana’s brother, and then it was time for speeches, bands, dancing and a party that went on long into the night.
Congratulations to Evan and Breeana – may you enjoy many happy, crazy and funny years together!
